I want to welcome you to Magaly's October's Heart-Bits, blog party. The topic is simple, Love is Love is Love..... and Words. "Write about the art, that you are happiest to create."

My love of creating art, came through my connection with the love of my crows.

A little story to share with you.

I don't know when,
I don't know why,
All I did, was look into the sky.

Their "Caw" called to me.
Their eyes looked into my soul.

I always say, it happened at a young age. A very young age.

The Children of The Sky, called to me.

A true store to tell. We were traveling far away.
I walked out of a store. My mom, at the car, looking up. As I reached her, she stated, did you not see? What? I responded. 3, I counted 3. They weren't even flying, they were circling your head, as if they were floating, (gliding),  in the air. Since that day, my mom "believes" in our connection.

Then, one snowy day, near Christmas, I went into hospital. I didn't know what was going to happen, but I was at peace. Our journeys through life, take us in so many directions! I wasn't meant to leave Mother Earth, yet. As I started to come out of everything, I looked at my mom and said, I'm suppose to create. Paint My Crows. Questioning everything, because I am not professionally trained, I settled down and started to believe. That's when the birth of my crows and my art, started.

It was sold on Ebay. Sometimes I wish I had of kept it, but then I think, he was meant to fly to a new home, to inspire me to keep going.

My name, "MagicLoveCrow", was not birthed till September 2009. The way I am "known" now.

Hope you're all well!
It's been awhile since my last post!
This past Monday, 16th, I did a large order for my bags and books! Hopefully will have everything in two weeks! For those of you who were asking for more baby crows, I played around with a design and made a new one. I actually, put it in the order too!
With this bag, there are 3 different baby crows. These are the sides.

And, on the inside is another different baby crow!

I couldn't get the images to fit properly in the smaller size notebook, so it will only becoming in the larger size.

I did manage to get one painting finished.

And, I just wanted to give a shout out to this pasta, that was recommended to me. For those of you who want a more healthier choice for pasta. It's made out of Green Pea Flour, that's it! I had it today. Yes, you can taste the "green peas", but with a regular tomato sauce, it was good!

I'm not getting paid to advertise this. I just wanted to share. I know so many of us, are trying to eat healthier!

Show and Tell

Hope you're all well!

Guess what?? TODAY I GOT MY BAG AND NOTEBOOK! Can you tell I'm excited! LOL! I'm smiling, I'm laughing, I'm crying. I never thought I would be doing something like this and it's all because of you!!!!! Thank you, again, from the bottom of my heart, for pushing me and loving my art!!

I'm going to be writing about all my findings, so you know everything! Get a drink, long post!

First off, the "bag". In one of the pictures I saw, they showed it being worn cross body. I tried that. I can do it, but it's a little short and snug for me. I'm a larger girl, so maybe on somebody smaller it will be fine. The material is amazing! It's smooth, but thick. It feels good and it is stretchy. It looks a lot bigger in person. The printing for the colours, compared to my painting, is pretty good. The only thing I can say is, the "grey" colour, has a blue hue. This is the front of the bag, which is the same as the back.

There was 3 different straps to choose from. The regular one, a cotton one and what they call the seat belt, because it is wider. When I phoned and questioned what was the difference between the regular one and the cotton one, I was told the regular one is synthetic and the guy was honest, he said it felt almost like plastic. So, I went more expensive and took the cotton strap. I like it. It feels durable!
The strap is adjustable and has metal hardware.

"Notebook". I got the larger one and I'm sure glad I did. It doesn't seem to large for me. You can get it lined or unlined. I got it unlined, because I felt you can write or draw. The colours are the same as the bag. The grey is a little more blue. The outside cover has a good weight and thickness and it's smooth, almost a waxy finish to it?

Spine

The inside page, I love! It has a bit of a sheen to it. I was thinking, you could actually cut it out and frame it! My MLC got cut off in the printing, but I'm not going to worry about that, it's on the cover of the book.

The pages are acid free and have a yellow colour to them. In my opinion, when you were finished writing/drawing on the page and flip it, I don't think I would use the other side? Unless you flatten the book before. I don't know if what I'm trying to tell you makes sense, but I hope it does!

Overall, I am very, very pleased! I will be getting Shine Your Light and The Breath Of Life for my first order. These two were the top, when I asked you to pick your favs.

I'm just trying to decide, if I should add a 3rd design for the first order as well. I have to sleep on that. I want to get the order in by this coming monday. For the bags, I will be getting the cotton strap. The cost will be a little more for it and for the notebooks, I will be getting blank pages.

Just to let you know, you can order from Art Of Where (if you want something different from what I am ordering), but the main reason, I'm getting the merchandise in myself, is because if there is a "flaw", I would rather deal with it. This way, I can inspect everything, before it's sent out. Not saying there ever would be a problem, but you never know.

Hope you're all doing well!
I just finished the last can of spray for my paintings, but got a phone call from the art store today, and the cans I ordered, have just came in! Happy Dance! They are being mailed to me!
And, I got an e-mail from Art Of Where today, my bag and notebook are in the mail! Double Happy Dance!  So excited!

Now speaking of mail. Last year, I won a Halloween giveaway from Laura's Favorite Things. I didn't receive anything last year and I never thought anything about it. I know life happens. We all go through things! Well, this year, I was surprised by a box full of goodies in the mail! In Laura's letter she apologized for her lateness. No need for apologies Laura! I feel so blessed! Third happy dance! LOL! Thank you Laura!!
I got some cool towels and some other funky stuff!

I did finish a painting and I took some progress pictures! I wanted to do a full moon painting.

Hope you're all doing well! Happy October!
Just to let you know what is happening with the bags and books.
What the company suggests, before ordering a large order, is to first do a check with your designs, to see how they are printed. I made sure I did everything in very high resolution, but you never know. So, I ordered a bag and book for myself. As soon as they come in, I will have a show and tell! 😊

I have to say, just from my experience so far with this company, they have been amazing. I had to cancel my order twice. First time, I forgot to order the book. Second time, I forgot to include the label. Third time, I got it all right! LOL! The one thing that really surprised me, was when I had to cancel the second time, there was no answer on the phone, and they don't have an answering machine. I actually, got a phone call back from them in a half an hour, asking if everything was alright, because they saw my number on the call display. I really thought that was great!

Now, I'm out of my "spray" that I use on my art, for the finishing touch. I can't get the spray from Michael's. I order it from another art store. They are out of it too. So, hopefully they get it in soon!!

I have started another painting, but it's not finished yet!

This coming Monday, October 9th, is Canadian Thanksgiving. We have family arriving on Friday. Just in case I don't make another post, I want to wish everyone in Canada a very happy Thanksgiving!
