Hi Everyone!
Hope you're well!
I'm excited to show you a painting I've been working on!
I'm now at the finishing stages. Just have to add my heart. My question to you all is, which direction appeals to you more? Horizontal or vertical? I know which one I prefer, but I would like to know, what you think? The painting is 10" x 20".
Hope you're well!

Hello Dear Stacy!!! Gorgeous!!! Vertical gets my vote :)💕💕💕
ReplyDeleteThese are great, Stacy! I also prefer the vertical!
ReplyDeleteWonderful painting, I prefer the vertical one, too. Great to see this piece, and thanks for all your comments on my blog. Hugs, Valerie

ReplyDeleteI’m glad things are going OK for you. My dad was fond of saying, “just keep putting one foot in front of the other, and all will be well” and I guess that is all any of us can do.
Your newest painting is stunning. I love it! I like both ways but vertical is my favourite.
Oh wow, this is amazing! At first I thought is was a series, and maybe you could make more..?
ReplyDeleteThank you for your kind posts on my blog, it's nice to be back :)
Awesome!
ReplyDeleteI think it works either way. Is he looking up at the sun or flying into brilliance?
Each has a different thought to me
ReplyDeleteVertical. Looks more majestic to me.
ReplyDeleteI think the vertical image is more dynamic.
ReplyDeleteThis is so stunning Stacy! I love seeing the phases with the wings. :) It is awesome that it could be hung either vertical (my preference) or horizontal. The space for it to be hung may dictate which works better.
ReplyDeleteI love it. Can I also add that the wings have a really shocking look to them in the top two, before you fill in the feathers. I don't know how in the world you can use that for future paintings, but visually, it's really great.
ReplyDeleteBecause of the curve of the wings, I like vertical best, but it works either way, really.
OMG! For some reason when I saw the first picture of the wings in drawn form I thought it was sooooooo cool! You should do another one with the wings unpainted. I can't explain it but it just looked awesome to me with the background colors showing through..
ReplyDeleteI was thinking exactly what Leeanna said ... that first picture is amazing! it has such an organic and medieval look to it. I absolutely love it
ReplyDeleteI love the vertical aspect. Then it looks like rays of light are streaming down from the sky onto your beautiful crow. Either way though, I love this painting!
ReplyDeleteThat is amazing! I love the color usage. But you know...I actually love the wings in the first couple of images more. They were more artistic. Almost tribal. I agree with Leanna that you should do some with wings that look like that. :D
ReplyDeleteI like both horizontal and vertical. I like his positioning a little more in the horizontal one, but I like the background better in the vertical one. lol
Oh that is gorgeous! I love it both ways but especially vertical. It is a wonderful piece!
ReplyDeleteThose paintings are outstanding, Stacy, I really like them no matter what angle they're facing.
ReplyDeleteWow! I was surprised at how different the paintings look when viewed horizontally versus vertically. In the vertical poses, the crow looks like it is opening up to the universe and receiving something powerful. In the horizontal poses, the crow looks like it is powerfully vanquishing something good ~ almost an evil force snuffing out the light. Well, that's my two cents worth! LOL Have a good one!
ReplyDeletebtw, it was fascinating to see how you constructed the constructed the wings. The first stage of the wings was strikingly elemental, although the end result is powerful.
DeleteThis looks fabulous! I like it both ways!
ReplyDeleteHi Stacy! It is beautiful both ways but I am always partial to anything that hangs like a "talisman". So taller instead of wide. . . but you could flip a coin because it is stunning either way!! :) Big CROW HUGS!! xx
ReplyDeleteWow. Love this one. You know they work either way and both bring a different perspective. If I HAD to make a call I'd say vertical.
ReplyDeleteMy daughter had a show with a picture that could go either way but she definitely considered it a vertical. They hung it horizontal and she was less than thrilled:)
Have a great one.
Hugs,
stunning art, I love it ;O))
ReplyDeleteWow, beautiful .... I love seeing the progress-pics. It has a very different feel depending on which position it is in. I like the vertical one best!
ReplyDeleteOhhhh your crow are has advanced so much and simply beautiful. I love that tree crow. You should make some like that. I love the finished piece too. Vertical for me.
ReplyDeleteSorry I haven't been around blogger was giving me trouble think I have it fixed now.
Gorgeous. It reminds me of a short animated film I watched when I was a kid, will try to find its title.
ReplyDeleteOh Stacy, these are AMAZING! I can not believe how talented you are! SO very creative!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm in love with the vertical angle. She looks like she's about to take flight that way. Horizontally she looks nesting. And you know I'm all about the flying. :-D
ReplyDeleteI'm a vertical girl lol...likes looking up and feeling the energy from above :D XXX
ReplyDeleteThis is gorgeous..I love both ways( they both give off different perspective of energies)..but I am drawn to vertical..it really gives a sense of motion and movement. Stacy..either way it is stunning...do what you feel drawn to!
ReplyDeleteHugs...beautiful work!

Oh my this is really really magnificent my friend!!!
ReplyDeletei truly gave it a loooong look and found all its directions charming and attractive so hard to say one
This is such a splendid painting! When I look at the painting, I think of sun or moon beams coming down onto your lovely crow. With that in mind I would go for the vertical option. Hope you're having a great summer my friend!
ReplyDeleteGood morning, Stacy. I was just studying the colors in your Magic Love Crow. They are magic indeed.
ReplyDeleteWoo Hoo! Way to go on the roofing.
May your Sunday be wondrous.
Hugs,
Love this painting - I'd choose vertical.
ReplyDeleteHope your weekend has been good, my best wishes for the new week to come.
All the best Jan
Oh Sweetie...thank you so, so much for your kind words of support through my recent difficulties. They are truly appreciated.:))
ReplyDeleteAnd this gorgeous painting...oh WOW...it is absolutely breath-taking!!
Lots of Love & Hugs xoxoxo
I like the painting both ways, horizontal and vertical, but I lean toward vertical. It looks like she is looking up towards the sun. Have a great day!
ReplyDeleteThe painting is excellent. I like it both ways- but the mood of the painting changes for me if it is vertical or horizontal. I like vertical better because the looking up pose seems hopeful and strong. :)
ReplyDelete~Jess
Looks magnificent! Thanks for showing the progress. :)
ReplyDeleteI like vertical, because it looks like sunbeams coming down. Such a cool painting! I love seeing your artwork. Hugs!
ReplyDeleteI like that this piece of Art looks amazing both horizontal and vertical, so that it could be hung according to what pleases you that particular day! The Vertical appeals to me slightly more since the Rays seem to be being absorbed into the bird, building Strength... mebbe that's how I'm feeling today tho'. In the other it looks like it's flying down to Rescue or do Battle... guess I'm not feeling like doing either of that today *winks*, but if I were... that positioning would be Inspirational!
