Just to let you know about the "wood boards". They came pre-gessoed. The surface was very smooth. After I finished the paintings, and didn't like them, I did try to gesso over top, but it became very lumpy. I guess the only other thing I could have done, was to buy a satin varnish, but I was finished with them, so, I did throw them out! I did try, but they didn't work for me. Thank you for all your suggestions!

We got our first snow fall a few days ago, but it is gone now. It warmed up a bit, but now, the Autumn coolness has settled in and the winds are blowing.

I did get some paintings finished!

"Fiore" (Flower in Italian) (5" x 5" canvas)

I am working on "Love".  Here is a sneak peak of her.

I have sketched out in my mind, an idea for a larger painting and I can't wait to start it! I hope it turns out. It's calling to me!

I received a very cool book, from a giveaway I won.  It came all the way from Wales, from the lovely Yvonne at Melancholy and Menace.  I got some other extra treats, like a cute rubber bat!! Love him!

Tomorrow is Halloween! I will go to the cemetery and leave some apples at my Grand-pa's grave and visit. If the weather is nice, I will take some pictures. Have an amazing Halloween everyone!!!

Hi Everyone!
Hope you're all doing amazing!

For the past 2 weeks, I have been creating 2 10" x 16" paintings. I got these new wood boards, that are made really well. No warping! I have heard some of my artist friends use them, so I thought I would give them a try.

Well, I kept painting and painting. I used a lot of paint! Something was off to me, but I thought I would keep going. When I finally finished both paintings, I looked at them and thought yuck! They were flat to me. Very dull looking! When I looked at my paintings on canvas, they had such nice vibrancy and life to me. So, unfortunately,  I threw them out! They say for acrylic and oils, maybe they work better with oils?

Sorry, I have no new art to show you!

But, I do have some good news on my gym journey!!! 19 pounds gone! Woot, Woot! LOL!

Hi Everyone!
It has been a crazy busy week! And, I haven't been sleeping either. Wonder if it's because of the full moon upon us?

Had an excellent Thanksgiving! I did really well. Ate white meat, turnip, stuffing, cranberry sauce, potatoes, no gravy,  and a little piece of pie. (one plate) Instead of gaining 5 pounds, I lost 1!!

To date, I have lost 12 pounds, since I have started my gym journey, which is one month! Happy Dance!

I did finish one painting. My mascot has returned. He is skating!

Happy Canadian Thanksgiving

We are having our turkey and pumpkin pie today. And, if you are wondering... I am not going to the gym today! LOL!

I have to be good! No gravy and a tiny piece of pie! Wish me luck!

One more special thing, I was involved in a secret Halloween/Autumn gift giving group. Like a secret Santa, but for Halloween! LOL! I want to thank Holly for my beautiful gifts! She did the cross stitching and the crow sachet has lavender in it.

She also sent me this beautiful image she created. It is of her roses, the full moon, and the crow that comes to visit her.
