Hi Everyone
Hope you're well! I changed back my comments, so they get posted right away. I had it the other way, where I could check the comments first, because I was getting spam, but when I would hit publish, some of the comments would be published and some not? So, I hope the spammers are gone!

The sun is out today! Snow is gone and there is a nice cool breeze! So, I took some pictures of my new art! All are aceo's, which means they are all 2.5" x 3.5", the size of a baseball card! Enjoy.

"Listen" "Mother Earth is talking."
"Happy"
"Cowgirl Ballerina Baby Crow"
"Blessings" "Fairy Baby Crow"
"Gone Fishing"
"Beautiful You Are" (I did a similar larger painting.)
Before you leave, I want to show you my bat! I am so excited! Ramona had a giveaway on her blog. The giveaway was for adopting a bat species, from Bat Conservation International. I thought, what an excellent giveaway! You are helping out these little creatures, that do so much for this earth! So, I won! I got to pick out from 5 different species! I picked the Bechstein's Bat. I didn't realize, this bat is one of the rarest mammals in the world! This is what I got in the mail.
Thanks so much Ramona for having such a thoughtful giveaway!!
Have a great one everyone!

Hi Everyone,
This is what we woke up to this morning.
We had a mixture of snow and freezing rain last night. You can't tell, but if you were to walk on that snow right now, it would be like on an ice rink! You would be on your butt! LOL! It is now almost 4:00pm and we are under another freezing rain warning in our area! It's so dark outside! We thought it would be over with by now! I've cleared halfway down the driveway.

Mom and I have been cleaning and cooking for tomorrow. We have friends and family coming Friday and Saturday for Easter. Hoping the weather clears by tomorrow morning!

I forgot to show you the painting I finished with the Tree Spirit in it. Well, it is in my banner, but you can't see the entire painting. I called it "Home". When I looked at Baby Crow in the tree, looking up in the sky, I didn't think there could be a better name. The painting is done on a 8" x 8" canvas.
Happy Easter!

Happy Spring!
I hope everyone is having a great day!
I don't know if I have shared some of my Ukrainian eggs before? But, I thought it would be nice, on this Spring day!
Our eggs are over 35 years old! They are all real! They are so delicate! When I was looking at them, the colours have started to yellow and our BIG goose egg has a bad hole in it, but we would never get rid of them! I am Canadian, but my heritage is Ukrainian and Polish. These eggs take so much time to do!
Here are some of my eggs.
The large goose egg came from Vegreville, Alberta! The largest Ukrainian egg is there!
This is another favourite of our eggs. The poppy flower.
I have shown these pictures before, but I thought it would be fun to share again!
I still have my Ukrainian beads! They are wood and red!
I use to Ukrainian dance. It was an honour to be picked to carry the bread/paska. I was so nervous! Didn't want to drop it! LOL! I still have my Ukrainian boots, my blouse (mom embroidered my blouse) and my vest! You can see my beads in this picture again.

The sun has been out today! So, I thought I would show you "Birth". I never told you before, but all my abstract paintings are done with cards. Cards from a deck of cards. I have not used any paint brushes. I really loved creating this one! When I finished this painting, I saw creation. From earth, to people, and maybe me too. The birth of being me and loving me! So, I named it Birth! (16" x 20" canvas)

I will leave you with something I stole from Sandra Cox's blog! I thought it was so cute! LOL!

(thanks for your advice about hangers on canvases)

Hi Everyone!
Hope you're well!
I've been busy painting, but for the past week, the weather has not been cooperating! The sky has been gloomy and we have been getting either rain, hail, or snow showers. So, I haven't been able to take pictures or spray the varnish.
I thought I would give you some peaks at what I have been doing!

This painting is finished. It is a large piece. I am only showing you the bottom part. I have to keep some surprises for you. LOL! But, I will tell you, I've called it, "Birth". It is an abstract painting.
The next paintings I have not finished.
When I was creating this one, a lady appeared in the tree. Maybe she is a tree spirit? I don't know yet.
A finished background. More to be done!
The last piece was inspired by Rommy's poem! I hope you like it Rommy! There is still much to do on it and I will be giving it away! So this is the last time I am showing it!
Thank you for all your touching comments on my last post!!! Means everything to me!
A question, when you purchase art that has been done on a canvas, do you expect a hanger on the back, especially a larger canvas? I use to do it all the time, but I don't anymore. All my canvases are gallery wrapped, meaning no staples are shown, even on the back. And, they all have a lip, so they can hang nicely on the wall, with one or two nails.
The reason I stopped putting hangers on the canvases, was because everyone now, does there there own thing. A painting could be sitting on an easel, or leaned, or hanging. You get the idea. If you have an opinion, I would like to know.

"Reclaiming My All"

(Grab a drink and relax. Long post)
I dropped one of my larger framed canvases, that I had finished a painting on and I broke the wood frame. I was going to throw it out. I looked at the painting. It was from last year, when I was going through and coming out of things. I thought, no, I'm not going to throw it out! This new painting will be representing, having peace, healing, forgiving the past, lessons learned, and forgiving myself. This painting is representing truly loving me! Being me! I then thought of Magaly Guerrero's poem she wrote at the end of 2015.

Another year’s swallowing its own tail,
riding helter-skelter on the Wheel
of living and dying and living again…

getting me from dizzy to sozzled
on the juices of Chaos’ other brother—
you know him,
he’s the calm-camouflaged Catastrophe
fed by society to all its accepting
self-blinded souls.

.In spring, I lived content
between happiness and heartache,
soaring over a precipice of brilliance,
thinking, Not my drama.

.Then came July’s heat
to sweat a lioness’ dying tears
over a world that screamed,
“Murder-death-kill!”

I waited for the ebb and flow of the status quo
to trip into an endless downward spiral,
where it would choke in stark, tumultuous grief.

But nothing ever changes—Chaos reigns
when we fight the fog while stuck in place.

.So I sat through the fall…
existing
on naps, snacks and blogs…
muttering
of sweet blood denied,
of poverty-driven chaos,
of fuckin’ hard goings…

.Winter slapped me like a sickness—
a pandemic of empowerment and changes
shouting into my skull, “Take control ruthlessly.
Misery doesn’t need more friends. Escape
clouds of barely submerged apprehension.
Tongue kiss enlightenment. Reclaim your belief
in dirt, in Faerie, in the resurgence of love, in Self!
Devour this creative boost.”
.
I am reclaiming my all.

I kissed Gaia with spirit, flesh and bone,
felt my old doors opening,
welcomed the rebirth of inspiration;

I met the eyes of the infant Wheel,
watched them open… open again,
glimpsing the spring of a new me.

I knew then, this painting was going to be called, "Reclaiming My All". I cut the canvas out of the wood frame and the painting came to be. I purposely kept the edges uneven. We all have our uneven edges and we have to love and accept them.

The front of the painting and the back have been primed with gesso. After the painting was completed, I then took embroidery floss, weaved the bottom and top and then made a loop for the hanger. The back and the front have been sprayed with matte varnish. The canvas has a nice thickness to it and will hang beautifully on a wall. The painting is roughly 12.5" x 15.5". I thought, is it too raw? But, in the words of Magaly, "That's what makes it wonderful. When we put all of our feelings into our art: the art comes to life, it breathes, it bleeds, it rejoices and grows with us.”

After the painting was complete, I thought about my journey this year, about loving myself! I have shared this with you, since the beginning. And, you have supported me. It's like we are going through this together. Many of you have written to me personally, about your own journey and that touches my heart, that we are all helping out each other.
I then new, I had to give this painting away. To say thanks to all of you!

I shared with Magaly, what I was doing, because her poem was part of my inspiration. She then shared with me, she was going to do an article about me and the evolution of my art! I was so touched, I started to cry!
So, this became a team effort between Magaly and I.

I would be honoured, if you all go to Magaly's blog now. She is hosting the giveaway. Even if this painting is not calling out to you, her words are very special to me and I would like to share them with you!

Thank you

Brother's taxes finished! Yes!
Mom's taxes finished! Yes!

Stacy gets scissors after finishing taxes today and gives herself a shabby bob! Yes I did! I love it! Some parts are a little longer than others, but I think I did a great job!

My hair was almost down to my butt! I feel so much lighter! It felt just as good, as when I was shredding the paper! LOL!
Now, I just have to wait to get my documents back from the government, to correct my taxes!

Thank you for your kind comments about my abstract art! Means so much to me!

Have a great one!

Mini Abstracts
Hi Everyone! The sun is out, so I took some photos!
All of these paintings are done on 4" x 4" canvases. I had so much fun creating them! I can't even begin to tell you how many layers are on each piece. And, then I would take some layers off and began again. When you run your finger across them, you can actually feel the layers. Every piece took me hours/days to complete, but I enjoyed every minute! I finished them with a gloss finish, to make sure the detail and the colours pop.  I hope you enjoy them!

Number 1 - I saw a forest, lake, sun, and then a little creature appeared to me on the bottom right hand corner. I saw his white ears, black nose and brown body. I decided to name this painting, "Joy".
Number 2 - This one has so many layers on it! When I looked at it, I saw the sky and a field of flowers. I named it, "Blossom".
Number 3 - As soon as I finished it, I knew what to call it, "Windows".
Number 4 - This one was a forest again to me. I called it, "Nature".
Number 5 - This was my magical one! I saw a house, tree, flowers, fence, river, dog, people. I had a few names for this one, Home, Magic Land, Wonderland. But, then for some reason "french" came to me, and everywhere in this painting, I was seeing red, so I called it, "Rouge".
I have to tell you, I have been working on a larger abstract painting. Every inch is telling a story to me. I can't wait to finish it and show you all.
I always tell you, to create from your heart and soul. You will never go wrong, if you are true to yourself! I feel my art is changing. I am changing. I'm not abandoning my crows, but I feel if I want to paint something other than my crows, I am going to do it. I'm going with the flow! Who knows what will happen? My crows are telling me to explore! I promise, all my art, will always have the magic and love from my soul.

Just to let you know, this week, I am going to try to do my mom's and my brother's taxes, so if I am late coming around to visit, you know why.

Happy March!
What have I been doing!
I finished 5 mini abstract paintings. Which I can't wait to show you! I have to get the right varnish to finish them, then I will.

I've also been working on something special for you! Which another amazing friend got involved in. Everything will be revealed soon!

We got a MAJOR snow storm! Started yesterday! I was snow shovelling last night at 10:00pm. First round! LOL!

Got my taxes all finished and sent them in electronically on tuesday. But wait!!! I was snow shovelling today and the mail male came on by! Gave me the mail. I opened it and there was another tax slip, that should have been included!! SHOOT! I phoned the government right away. Since I already filed, I have to wait till the assessment, then send the information in and then get reassessed! Darn it! I'm suppose to be getting a refund too! Now, I will have to wait even longer!! Errrr....

Next week, I will be doing mom's taxes! I better make sure, she has all her papers!

Talk soon!
Big Hugs!
