Hi Everyone ;o) Can you believe it's the last week of the 13 Goddesses Challenge ;o( I am so sad! I want to thank the lovely Simona for hosting such a great challenge! I had a lot of fun! I actually accomplished 17 Goddesses in this Challenge ;o) I couldn't help myself! I really enjoyed creating them with my crows ;o)
I would like to introduce to you, Chinese Goddess Long Mu ;o)
In Chinese Mythology, Long Mu, or Mother Of Dragons, was a Chinese woman who was deified as a Goddess after raising five infant dragons. Long Mu and her dragons developed a strong bond for each other and have thus become and example of parental love and an example of respect for one's ancestors and parents.
I had to do one more Goddess ;o) I love cats and I love crows, so she was calling to me ;o)
"Egyptian Goddess Bastet"
The Goddess of cats, Lower Egypt, the sun and the moon ;o)
Big Hugs everyone and thank you for following me in this creative journey ;o)

13 Goddesses Week 12-Australian: Gnowee
Hey everyone ;o) Hope you all had a lovely weekend ;o) It's a long weekend here in Canada. It's sunny and breezy today, but we are suppose to be getting some thunder showers, which I don't mind, because the ground is hard!
Can you believe, already week 12! This week I picked Gnowee. Her story is a sad one, but on a positive note, she did bring sunshine to the world ;o) Before I painted her, I looked at Aboriginal art from Australia and I noticed they use a lot of dots in there paintings, so I used this technique in my aceo ;o)
"Australian Goddess Gnowee"
In the mythology of the Aboriginal people of south-eastern Australia, Gnowee is a Solar Goddess whose torch is the Sun.
She was once a woman who lived upon the earth at a time when it was eternally dark, and people could only move about with the aid of bark torches.
One day she left her little boy sleeping, while she went out to dig for yams. Food was scarce and Gnowee wandered so far, that she reached the end of the earth, passed under it and emerged on the other side.
Not knowing where she was, she could not find her little boy anywhere, so she climbed into the sky with her great bark torch to get a clearer view.
She still wanders the sky to this day, lighting the whole world with a her torch, as she continues to search for her lost son.
For the last week, it will be a surprise ;o) Have a great day everyone ;o) Big Hugs ;o)

13 Goddesses Week 10 - Norse: Hel
Hi Everyone ;o) Hope you're all fantastic ;o) I am behind in Blog Land! Sorry. Busy weekend and busy week too!
It's week 10!! Only 3 more Goddesses to go ;o) The lovely Simona, actually gave us a helper list to go by, when doing this challenge. I kind of changed it. This week was suppose to be a Sumerian Goddess. When I was reading about Goddesses, I thought it would be cool to paint "Hel", so I had to go with her!
"Goddess Hel"
Hel is the Norse Goddess of the dead. In appearance, she is said to be a fearsome sight. She is described as being half alive and half dead. It is told that when she was born, disease first came into the world. She was said to sweep through towns and cities, bringing plague: if she used a rake, some would survive, if a broom, non would.
Next week, African Goddess Aida-Wedo. Take Care and Big Hugs ;o) I almost forgot, Simona is having a giveaway, for having 300 posts! You have till May 15th to enter and there will be 3 lucky winners ;o) Her art is amazing! Please go to this link to enter ;o)

13 Goddesses Week 9 - Aztec: Tlazolteotl
Hey Everyone ;o) Hope you are all well ;o) We have been having major rain storms!! Last night, was scary!! I think we are suppose to be getting more storms today! I have to admit, nature needed this moisture! Everything is so green now! No water in the basement, so that's a good thing! LOL!
Can you believe it's already week 9 in the 13 Goddesses Challenge! Wow, this is going fast!
"Tlazolteotl" (This Goddess has a lot going on!)
Tlazolteotl is the Aztec and Toltec Goddess of guilty pleasures, who both inspires and forgives carnal acts. She is a Love and Earth Goddess who is said to remove sins from her worshippers by absorbing them into herself. The punishment for adultery under harsh Aztec law was death, but if the offender confessed to Tlazolteoltl, her or she was absolved and the law would not touch them. However, a person was only allowed one confession per lifetime, so people would leave it as long as they could!
Tlazolteotl is also known as the Goddess of Witches. She is said to have four aspects of her depicted riding broomsticks and wearing pointed hats. These four aspects were considered four sisters, from the eldest, to the youngest. They were said to tempt people facing decisions towards evil and vice.
Tlazolteotl is shown nude (except for her jewelry) on a red broomstick, holding a snake.
Tlazolteotl is also considered one of the Nine Figures of the Creation of the World. Perhaps because of this, Tlazolteotl is sometimes called The Mother Of the Gods.
"Her Aspects"
- The Eater of Filth
- Mother of The Gods
- Patroness of Midwives and Healers
- Our Grandmother, who represents Nature's Healing Powers
