Hi Everyone!
Happy May!
We've been getting so much rain and the temperatures are cooler than usual.

Remember this painting?
Well, I finished it!
I loved the way it turned out! I got it all set up, to put a metal hanger on the back of it! I started to hammer the nails in and turned it around! "Note to self"... make sure the nails are shorter, than the thickness of the wood!!! Yes, that is right! The nails wet right through! So in the garbage the painting went!!   Errrr......
I will be trying to recreate this painting again!!

As for now, this is the painting I'm working on. Sorry the picture isn't great, but I think you get the idea.
Big Hugs 😊

  3. Oh, no! Is there a way to salvage the piece? Can the canvas be cut and used in a journal or some other way?

    So much love in the new painting. Remmember short nails. (-;

  6. Oh no!!! could you not cut the canvas from the frame to use as a different project? Or was it on a wood panel?

  9. So frustrating about the painting. But the recreation will be better, I bet.

Temperatures are much cooler than usual here, too. And we are getting rain. Mother Nature seems unable to make up her mind. *sigh*

The new painting looks wonderful, Stacy. Love the kiss and the tenderness shared by the crows.

  10. Hi, Stacy! I was just thinking how I hadn't seen a post by you in a few days and this one popped up.

It was great seeing your new stuff, even if you did ruin one with a nail.

  11. Oh no Stacy - after all that work!!!! Very annoying and especially as you have noone else to blame.... Sigh!!! Happy you are still creating though - your new painting looks very nice so far. Very excited about the finished one!!!

  13. Dearest Stacy, I am so sorry that this happened to your beautiful painting! If you haven't thrown it away yet, maybe you could turn it into a mixed media piece and cover-up the damage.
You new painting is going to be great! I can see it already! Love the stylized heart between their beaks!!!

    Big Hugs~

  14. Oh no! I am sorry to hear about the nail incident. But now you have learned and won't make that mistake again. :) The painting turned out amazing! I am loving your latest piece too. So sweet.

We have been getting tons of rain too. Everything that flowers at this time is doing fantastic because of it. Last year was so dry that many thing only barely bloomed!

  15. Oh no! I'm sorry to hear about your painting. I did the same thing with a frame I really liked... Maybe if you haven't thrown it away, maybe it could be saved with some gesso and more paint? It's beautiful. I also love the piece you're working on right now. It is so full of love.

  16. Oh no, so sorry about the nails, grrrrrr!!!! I was going to say just pull them out and patch up the holes, but if you are like me I would be so mad I would toss it too. But later I would try to rescue it after crying a bit...Anyway I know the recreation will be wonderful too! I love your new one, so sweet and touching!!! Hugs!

  17. Oh no what a shame, are you sure it wasn’t salvageable? It doesn’t seem fair somehow after all the work that went into it. I’m liking the new work and will look forward to seeing how it evolves.

  18. No ..oh, no!!!
    I feel for you Stacy.
Are you sure you cannot somehow save part of the painting?

I do like the new piece you are showing here, especially the heart shape under the beaks - it's great.

I do hope the rest of the week goes well for you.

    All the best Jan

So sorry to hear about the picture hanging that ruined your painting. How awful! Hope the new painting comes out in a way that makes you very happy. :)

  22. How sad that your wonderful painting ended up inside the garbage! I do hope you can recreate it. Meanwhile your WIP looks really emotional! Take care, Stacy!

  24. Oh what a bummer! I wouldn't have pitched it, though! Just keep on, keeping on...Aloha! Love the crows!

  25. The new painting is wonderful... Look at the tenderness between the crows!

So sad about the previous painting. Glad you are persistent though!

  26. Oh if i had a dollar for every time I did such a thing! It's always the last thing, a hanger, hook, light hole etc after the actual piece is done and you just want to get it completed! So sorry you lost that lovely work but I have no doubt it will be reborn into an even more beautiful creation. :)

  27. NOOOOO!!!! Pull it out of the garbage! I love that painting and I am sure the nail hole only gives it more uniqueness! Even rinsing off the other garbage that may have gotten on it just makes it a mixed-media painting. I know it's a stretch, I just love it so much. Okay, deep breath, I'm alright now, just LMAO!!!

The next painting is beautiful too! All your paintings are awesome and so unique. It amazes me how after all these years of painting crows, you are still able to channel all the new ones that want to be seen. Stacy you are AMAZING!

BTW, go out to my blog. My Paint Party Friday post is dedicated to YOU! I hope you like it! Sending you lots of love and soft hugs! Rasz

  29. OMG, those are STUNNING paintings!!! Amazing!!!

Happy May to you, my sister!!

  30. What!?? You just threw it away!? Don't do that, you can so easily fix that. Put some medium on there to glue it back together and then some paint on top. No one will even notice. I hope you can still save it! The new painting is beautiful as well!

  31. Beautiful....even if the nail went all the way through! Love the new piece too!

  32. Acrylic Art..now what sort of tools do you use for that sort of art? Just curious...I wish I had a hand for that sort of thing but I guess all my handy work goes to my writing.
