Hues Of Oz 2014

Hi Everyone ;o) Welcome to Oma Linda's "Hues Of Oz" blog party ;o)

When Oma Linda, announced this year's theme for the party, I was really excited! I started seeing all the colors in the Wizard Of Oz. For those of you who don't know me, welcome. I paint crows ;o) So you will see all my characters as crows ;o) Click on the pics to make them bigger ;o)
The first thing that came to me, was Dorothy's dress ;o)
Next was the Yellow Brick Road ;o)
Then I thought for awhile. I couldn't put everything in this painting, so the next thought was of  Glinda, The Good Witch ;o)
Of course, I had to include The Wicked Witch Of The West ;o)
The painting was almost finished, but I had to put one more important item, The Ruby Slippers ;o) When I finished the slippers, I added extra sparkle on to the yellow brick road and on to the Wicked Witch Of The West ;o) I also added a heart, because "There's No Place Like Home" ;o)
(Please note, the sun was not shining, when I took the last pictures. I hope you get a good idea of the painting!)
"Showing the Sparkle"
This painting is 8" x 8" and the sides are 1.5" thick, which means it doesn't have to hang on a wall, it can be placed on a shelf or table ;o) It can be placed anywhere for your enjoyment ;o) The reason I am telling you this, is because I am giving it away ;o) I know it's a larger painting, but I really wanted to put a lot of detail in it ;o) If you would like this painting, please tell me in your comment ;o) You have to say, you want it! If not, you won't be entered. The winner will be announced on Monday March 24th ;o) Big Hugs and enjoy the party ;o)

  18. I absolutely love the painting! Of course, I WANT IT!!! I have written about the Messenger Crows in my Oz books and your vision of Crows are wonderful!

Maybe the moment a paranoid crow,
is talking in tongues no other birds know.
What is he doing, and why in my yard?
Mercilessly cawing, his eye looking hard!

  23. I want it....
    No.....
    I WANT IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ok, just Incase, you weren't sure, I thought I better make it perfectly clear... So, yes, why you ask? Well love the good/wicked stand off over those sparkly red shoes, which path will they choose, continue along the yellow brick road(?) or will they be tempted to fly Wicked 'West'? Love the balance of crow witches, and the sparkly red objects of desire on that well travelled, always inspiring, yellow brick road :)

  25. How very clever of you to use the colors of Oz and the two main witches (after all Glinda was a Good Witch!). Very charming!
I love all things Oz, and you totally captured the spirit of Oz in your painting. I would love to win your painting!

  26. Stacy your choices were spot on. I love how you tucked the broom under the green witch's wing and continued painting on to the sides. Whoever gets to put this on their shelf will have the good witch sending good vibes over them. Fab work! Please throw me in the hat.
