It's Beginning To Look Alot Like Christmas

Hi Everyone ;o) We have been getting tones of snow ;o) It's so pretty! The one good thing, it's nice fluffy snow, but it's still adding up, so you have to shovel at least twice a day.

Mom's Christmas Cactus is in full bloom ;o) She is so beautiful ;o)

The Christmas villages have been put up ;o)

Look out below! Giant Lizard attack! LOL!
I got that hand carved lizard at the rockhound gemboree this year for mom. She really liked it ;o) I think he looks very cute in her Christmas display ;o)
Flowers and Christmas decorations have been displayed throughout our kitchen window ;o)

You may have noticed, we don't have a tree. Mom got rid of it around three years ago. She just felt it was getting to be too much. So we hang our decorations throughout the house and I have my lights in my painting area ;o) I would love to get another tree, but I understand ;o)
My brother and sister-in-law are coming the 20th to the 22nd. Just to let you know, if I am late coming around to your blogs!
Oh, I forgot, this is a painting I have been working on ;o) A little sneak peak ;o)
Big Hugs ;o)

  1. Where do I begin? We have probably as much snow as you do right now! You know I love the Christmas cactus--it has to be spectacular in person. Your home really looks festive and yes, I spied the angel and the hanging crow. I love, love, love, the lizard looking over the village--I think I laughed until my side hurt! Have a great time this weekend with your family.

  10. Hi Stacy,
What a cute idea hanging the ornaments around the home. Trees are a lot of work so it totally makes sense. The display with the lizard is a riot! My brothers and I used to place Star Wars figures in the manger when we were little. LOL. The snow was falling like crazy last night. I shoveled around 7pm last night and had to shovel again at 6am this morning. Definitely getting my exercise!

  11. There's something wonderful about flowers inside during winter. Enjoyed all your village scenes, did I see pies?

The sneak peek looks like it's going to be great!

Have a happy visit and I'll send more snow your way if you still want it...

  17. What a neat idea for those who don't have Christmas trees. I would be happy to steal some of that snow. Just enough to make a few snow angels and a snow man. ;P

  18. So glad that snow is with you and not me :) Love the idea of decorating throughout the house. We stopped doing trees about 25 years ago after coming home and finding the tree destroyed, ornaments everywhere and 4 cats asleep in the tree!

  20. Beautiful cactus!
My mom keeps her Christmas tree all year! She just closes the formal living room door and presto. Problem solved. And starts plugging around November ...ha, really.
She has done this for around 10 yrs, she says I never have

  22. Ok Stacey I have to say I'm a bit jealous of your snow. That would feel like Christmas. This weekend in Va. it's going to be almost 70...not feeling like Christmas :-( Your mom's Christmas cactus is looking awesome! I have exactly three blooms on mine, but I am excited that it is still alive after 3 years and blooming at all!!!

  25. Hi Stacey. You are such a wonderful person and I am honored to know you. Your decorations around the house sounds better than just on a tree. Have a very happy Christmas and the very best to you and your mom for 2014

  26. Everything looks SO pretty and festive!! I love your crocheted Crow ornament!
The snow looks beautiful, too - however, I'm not much of a fan when it comes to shoveling!! Where are those neighbor boys/girls when ya need them!! When my siblings and I were younger, we always shoveled the neighbors drives and having that extra $ was SO much fun!! We have lived here many years, and I believe I can count on one hand how many times a neighbor kid offered to shovel. Oh well.
Enjoy your holiday time with your family!
Happy, Happy Holidays to you and A very, Awesome New Year.
    Sending lots of hugs!!
    xo

  27. Stacy,

Glad your having a nice white Christmas!
Fun decorations, I miss my Christmas village but I just don't have the room to have one anymore.
Mom and I sold our huge tree many years ago, now we have a 4 foot white tree, decorated nicely and I carry it down to the basement fully decorated and up the next year. I find decorating and un decorating got to be too much but I love having it. I also have a small 2 foot feather tree, also white, and a small silver metal tree, which I hope to replace with something else later on!

You can find quite nice 2-4 feet trees, maybe you can find a small one.

  29. I would love to see more of that painting...
The snow covered street looks so lovely. Snow changes any landscape, and it can look so beautiful, especially when the sun is shining and the sky is blue.

  30. Stacy thanks for sharing your decorations, love that you spread everything throughout your home. I remember you showing your moms Christmas cactus last year and I couldn't believe how large it was. I have a decent sized one I managed to keep alive since last year, but I only got a couple of blooms. I know there is a secret to getting them to last for years, I just have no idea how, lol!

I was so happy last year when I got rid of my old tree which was huge, unlit, and had to be put together one piece at a time!! I bought a skinny tree, prelit, and comes in 3 pieces, so much easier to do. It's something to consider, or even one of those cute little funky ones you find at homesense. A house is naked without a tree, lol! at least in my holiday obsessed world.
I had to look twice at the lizard, lol! I thought you picked up a new pet :-D
enjoy your visit with your brother and SIL

All your pictures made me smile, really big!!! I needed to see a little Holiday Cheer!!!!! Big Hugs my friend. Oh and I am excited to see the rest of the painting. The wispy tail is awesome.
