"The Old Stump"

Hey, what's wrong with you?
You, I am talking to you, look down here.

You, you are an old stump?

Old stump? Before you call someone that, get to know me first. So, like I said, what's wrong?

I feel I have lost my magic.

You never lose your magic! You have to look deep within and you'll find it. Like me, you called me an old stump. Look closer ;o) I'm filled with fairy dust.

Moss kisses my sides,
Wild flowers grow on top of me.
Beautiful birds come and nest.

Gorgeous stones lay beside me.

So my child, you see, you have to look deep! Your spark is there!

Thank you ;o) If I ever feel lost again, may I come back and visit you?

Always ;o)

Now all of you may be wondering where this magic stump is? Well, it's in my bedroom ;o) I just finished painting it! It's kind of big. I love it! I wanted to paint something ;o) I love my purple walls and my orange gypsy drapes (mom made them!)
But, I needed more ;o) What can I say, I love color ;o) LOL! No beige for me! (Make your house, your home!) I will be adding little wild blue flowers around my room, to bring it all together ;o) I wish the picture of the stump came out better! The colors are more vibrant ;o)
I have to let you all know, I didn't paint the owl! That is from my friend Laurie ;o)

Big Hugs everyone ;o) Remember, the magic is within you ;o)

  17. I love this, it's so beautiful. It's always good to remember the "small" things in life, see the magic in so much, especially in nature. Your painting and thoughts remind me of the picture book "Cactus Hotel".

  31. What a neat story. If you ever get a chance, go to Cathedral Grove on Vancouver Island. You would love it! It's so magical.

The previous owners of our house had two girls and one of the bedrooms is pink. I put sheer pink drapes in it and everything takes on a rosy glow at the right time of day. I love it!

  32. So much magic in your post, your pictures and your words. Will you paint your ceiling? I am always surprised that ceilings are no longer painted – when visiting old castles in France you can see that ceilings were painted. When I was growing up I wanted to paint my ceiling navy blue with stars in it but my father did not want me to – sigh!

  35. Dear Stacy, I hope you have a very special book that needs a fun dress because you've won the Skull and Butterfly eReader Sleeve from Kindred Kollections.

Please email me your mailing info, which I should already have, but my laziness knows no boundaries when it comes to keeping this kind of information *sigh*

    Congratulations!

  37. Great painting, and Magic you hid one of your talents! Story telling! I mean I know you write very well but loved how you introduced the painting! And that Owl is very nice, I used to have a nice collection of owl (still have a few of the better pieces-ok a lot of them)Lost one moving and the other was to big to bring here.
You will show us your finished room right? What I have seen looks great, your mother to is an artist, everything I have seen that she has made is beautiful (yes even the food!) So creativity runs in your family!
