Something Totally Out Of My Comfort Zone, Liz Taylor, New Crow Art

Hi Everyone ;o) I have something to share with you ;o) My friend, Ileana, is doing the 75 sketches in 75 days challenge and in this, she is also doing the 29 faces in 29 days challenge. So she has combined the two and is only sketching faces. Well, today, she has reached her 75th sketch! Yepee! What she asked, from her followers, (if they wanted to participate), was to sketch a portrait of Elizabeth Taylor. All who participated, Ileana would be posting them on her blog and then everyone would see, all the different ways people sketched the same face. This is the picture we are to sketch from.

Well, I was a little nervous on this challenge because I don't do faces and I don't sketch! I first thought of doing an Elizabeth Taylor crow, but, then I thought no, do your best Stacy, go for it. So I did ;o) I did half a face ;o) LOL! But, I still did it ;o) Here is my face ;o)

I had fun and it was a great challenge for myself! Thanks Ileana ;o) Have some fun and go check out her blog, to see all the different versions of Elizabeth Taylor ;o)

Here is some new crow art ;o)

"Nature Calls"
"Nature's Fortune Teller"
"The Drummer"
"Picking Flowers"

Have a great weekend everyone ;o) Big Hugs ;o)

  21. You did a FANTASTIC job...and I love that you went out of your comfort zone because your style is funky with the crows and it's funky with Old Hollywood...glitzy and fun!

Your crows are spectacular. That last one makes me want to jump out there and walk everywhere today...or FLY. :)

  23. Oh, what a fun idea. I love your sexy, mysterious version of Liz. And pushing through your comfort zone is always so beneficial. Good for you.

  24. That looks really good Stacy. People are often afraid to draw faces, but it just takes close observation and practice. I love seeing the first year self portraits at school because people tend to make the things they value most (eyes) big and things they don't like small (such as ears or noses) :-)

  29. You did really good on your Liz sketch Stacy! But I still think you should try a "Liz" crow ... I'll bet you would do an awesome job of it! I can just see one of your crows staring straight on with those penetrating "Liz" eyes ...
